Englefield Green, 10 Week Counselling Group

April 2008

The counselling group is an environment where you can discover more about yourself and explore issues with other people.  You can make new friends and connections and benefit from the experience of sharing your thoughts and feelings within a secure group setting.

The group starts on 23 April 2008 - Wednesday evenings for 2 hours:

The group will run with 6-10 people for 10 weeks, costing £5-10 per evening depending on income.

WHO CAN JOIN
The group is open to women and men from any faith or culture. Single, married, divorced, hetero- or homosexual, whatever your status and age, you will benefit from the group if you have the curiosity and the courage to discover more about yourself. You need a willingness to listen to others and to give and receive feedback in the aim of obtaining greater self-awareness and insights into beliefs, habitual roles and patterns which may be hindering you from leading a rewarding life. The group can support you if you have issues with relationships, loneliness, anger, addiction, depression or simply want to discover yourself.

HOW TO JOIN
To join the group please call Brigitte Jeffries on 01784 74 04 02 in order to arrange a free meeting to discuss the group and find out more. This will be an opportunity for you to ask any questions which may help you decide if you would like to join. There is no commitment if you feel the group is not right for you. If you decide the group is right for you, I will ask you to pay a deposit of three weeks (minimum £15) to secure your place.

WHO AM I?
I am a qualified counsellor working with both individuals and groups. I have attended workshops and sat in groups for a number of years in which I made experiences that have lead me to believe in the uniqueness and healing power of a group. I have trained in counselling for 3 years at the Gestalt Centre London where I successfully completed the Diploma in counselling. I am also working as public relations manager within the IT industry so have personal experience of the challenges and pressures of the commercial and corporate sectors.

LOCATION
The group takes place on the premises of the MethodistChurch in Victoria Street, Englefield Green.

CONFIDENTIALITY
Confidentiality and trust is an important aspect of therapy. Clients may share difficult feelings and thoughts and in doing so can expect that any details about their personal identity will remain confidential.

sessions of this course have been cancelled because of insufficient numbers.

150th ANNIVERSARY
On 28th October 2009, St Jude's Church will be 150 years old. To celebrate this anniversary throughout 2009, there will be regular events of many kinds. The celebrations have been launched with a special calendar featuring some spectacular photographs of places of significance in and around Englefield Green. These calendars which will make excellent Christmas presents for family and friends, are available for you buy at £6 each from the Church. We now also have celebration mugs on sale.

Details of the concerts recitals may be found on a link from the home page.

PICTORIAL EXHIBITIONS
As from Saturday 31st January, there will be pictorial exhibitions at St Jude's most Saturday afternoons, with reproductions of documents and historic images illustrating events and personalities in the life of the church and the parish over the past 150 years. These will change from time to time during the year. Some of them may need the help of the public in identifying people shown in them, so we hope for your contributions!

ROYAL HOLLOWAY
Royal Holloway Chapel offers something that is not so common in parish churches these days: Choral Evensong on Thursdays (in term time) at 6.15pm, and a Choral Eucharist on Wednesdays at 5.15pm. For anyone who appreciates high quality choral music (and a repertoire more extensive than in most churches), these services are well worth coming to, and everyone is welcome.

NEW EGHAM SINGERS
The New Egham Singers is open to all regardless of age or singing ability It will meet at the Literary Institute in Egham on Monday evenings 8.00pm from 2nd February. More information from nes@eghamchoral.org or David Young on 01784 452589.

METHODIST BUILDING
