Englefield Green joint churches ALPHA course 2009

For ten weeks between January-March 2009 St. Jude’s ran an Alpha Course with people attending from our own church and from other churches on the Green and others with no church affiliation.  The ten sessions all began with a meal, followed by a talk on topics ranging from ‘Who is Jesus’ to ‘Why the Church’.  We then had small discussion groups on the topic for that evening.  There was also a study day on the Holy Spirit.  The whole course looked at important aspects of our faith and involved speakers from the Anglican, Methodist and the Journey Churches.

About thirty people regularly attended each week and the response to the teaching, food and discussion was excellent.  People enjoyed the fellowship of sharing a meal and the variety of topics, which ensured that there was a lively discussion taking place afterwards.  It is hoped that further courses will be arranged in the future.
