At St Margaret Leiston Lamb kept the medieval tower, and the exterior is (as usual in Suffolk churches) of flint with stone dressings. It was built in 1853; the great Garrett engineering works in the town were at their busiest then, but now there is instead the Long Shop Steam Museum.
