St Stephen Aldwark, built for the Frankland Russells who owned land in the village. The church is small but has a complex plan with polygonal transepts. Like St Jude’s, it has stone and brick bands inside, but here outside also. The use of a wheel window within a recessed arch at the east end is unusual.
